The auto-translator rendered “homo” as “gay.” The Hebrew-English dictionary confirmed this as the only possible meaning. However, Sfeins can be found on Wikipedia as “sapiens,” and seems to mean nothing else, so the sense in which “homo” is intended here is clear.)

I'd note that the name which you render as "Itzik" is commonly translated as Issac; news agencies prefer a more onomatopoetic transliteration these days, however (Itzchak, for example).
