That's terrible that you ran into something so unfair, Rogan. It feels lousy to have to do that to access necessary health care. So many trans people had to do that to conform to the old WPATH guidelines, because those were so unrealistic about our diversity. Much like the secret to reaching the Paradise Planet ending in the Choose Your Own Adventure books, some rules are intentionally written to be so unfair and impossible that anyone can only succeed if they don't play honestly by the rules.

This bill isn't written to bar people with DID from getting to transition. The bill is about permitting parents to prevent their children from transitioning, regardless of whether the children have any diagnoses that might indicate transition. (Which is still a bad bill, even though it's not singling out DID.)

The only diagnosis that indicates transition is gender dysphoria, so I wonder why the bill writers gave a list of other diagnoses, one of which was DID. Did the bill writers think a DID diagnosis can be used as a justification for transition? Anti-transgender bills tend to say-- or be founded in-- incorrect ideas about transgender people and transition.
